Old Grist Mill

Old Grist Mill 1

This old grist mill was inspired by seeing one from a magazine. It is one at a town in N.C.where the Foxfire books came from. I put some old bags of corn on the porch. I also made the creek flowing under the wheel. This one is fired ceramic clay. The wheel was fun to figure out. This one has been sold. I can make another in this style or reproduction of one you have. You can go to the profile page and contact me. You can also go to the read more of this post to see more views of this old mill. 12″”x9″” base 7″” height $150.00

L-Shaped House

L-Shaped House 1

My Grandparents lived in this style of house. I had some wonderful times there. I made the roof look like old rusted tin. I use several colors to get the old farm house look. The kitchen is separated from the house. You can see thru the house and under it. I also have a water shelf with a pail and dipper hanging on the wall. Also there is a wash basin. When I make these clay houses I have to use several steps to make sure they don’t crack before firing. I make each ceramic house by hand. I also do replicas of original buildings. Go to read more to see more pictures of this house. This house is sold but I can make another in this same style. $170.00

Old Country Church 1

Old Church 1

This reminds me of my childhood and going to church with Granny Roberson. The old churchs were plain but had a feeling of being home. I knew we went there to worship God and to connect with the other folks in the rural community. I made the walls to look whitewashed. There is a red carpet running down the asile of the church. I also do ceramic replicas. There is also a tree and climbing rose vine on the church. This one is $160.00 read more to see more pictures of it.

Old Junk Shed

Old Junk Shed 1

This was a fun building to do. It has everything around it including the kitchen sink. I have seen a building in Coffee County that inspired me to do that one. I loved the colors in the rusted tin. I also loved making and putting the old junk around it untill it looked right to me. I finally figured out how to make corragated tin with some skewers tied together and then I banged them over the clay for the effect. This one is sold. I had some folks from Texas that loved it and took it home with them. Everything on this one is made with fired ceramic clay. If you want to contact me go (read more) and you can also see more shots of it.

Old Country Store 1

This is an old Country Store with several old signs on it. I put signs like R.C. Cola,Coke,Pepsi Cola, Moon pie, Armour Lard, Red Liniment and more. Most of my clay houses are around 12″”X12″” and the height is around 6″”to 12″”. Sizes can be adjusted. I also do custom work from pictures. This one is already sold but I can do another one but of course it won’t be exactly like this one, each one is an original. You can contact me and email the pictures of what you would like. My stores sell for around $150.00 to $170.00 it depends on how many signs I have to paint on them. This store is fired clay but on the front and back door I put screen on the screen doors so you can see thru the store. You know an old store has to have a slamming screen door.

Granny’s House -Two Chimneys

Granny\'s House

This reminds me of a house a little old Granny would live in. I put her little dog on the back porch and if you look down the dogtrot from the front door you can see the little dog in the back thru the house. I also make my houses up off the ground where you can see under them. If you are old enough you can remember playing under one. I remember the good old days in Jacksonville Georgia where we played under our Grandparents house. They lived in an area called China Hill, so you know it was way out in the woods. There are chickens in the yard and a well. I made the roof to look like rusted old tin. I also put a water shelf on the back porch with a bucket and a wash bowl. This house has two chimneys on each side of the house. I have not sold this house yet. “”There are other views of this piece. To see them click on (read more) SOLD I can make another in this style for $150.00

Hip Roof – Farm House

Hip Roof - Farm House 1

This house is sold but can do one in this style. It sells for $165.00. I can also do repoductions of your houses. I can put pets and people on the houses too. I put screen in the doors on this one so you can see thru the house. I haven’t figured out how to make a screen door out of clay so I make the door and then after fireing the piece I put real screen on the door. There are so many of this style with the hip roof around South Georgia that I just had to figure out how to make that roof. There is a house like this just down the road from me near Willacoochee Georgia and I used it as a model for this one. I have other views of it when you click on read more on this entry.

Board & Batton House – Regina

Board & Batton House - Regina

It took a while to cut the clay for the strips of wood to make it look like board and batton siding. Everything is fired clay down to the chickens in the yard and the flowers on the porch. There is a cabin at Okefenoke State Park that inspired me to do this one. I also put the house off the ground so you can see under it. It is supposed to be sitting on old logs. It is amazing how this old pine or cypress wood just lasts and lasts. If you go to (read more) you will see more shots of this piece. You can see the curtains blowing out the window. I also made the roof look like old wood shingles. I also have a watershelf on the porch with a pail and wash bowl on it. $165.00 SOLD Can do another in this style house, all are one of a kind.
