A native of Georgia, Julie knew at an early age that she wanted to be an artist. She took her first painting class at age 9, and has been painting and receiving honors ever since. In high school, Julie was recognized for Governor’s Honors, and had her work displayed at the High Museum in Atlanta. Julie studied Fine Art while earning a Bachelors degree from Auburn University in 1991.

After graduation, Julie worked as a graphic designer, freelance artist, and art teacher in Texas. She then moved to Vermont where she was an artist member and the Education Director at the Chaffee Art Center in Rutland, Vermont. Since Julie moved back home to Georgia in 2001, she has continued to teach art and spend more time painting. She has been actively involed in the Wiregrass Artists Guild in Douglas, Georgia.

Julie has participated in numerous shows around the east coast including the Southwest Georgia Regional Art Show in Albany, where she received the People’s Choice Award. She is a member of the Georgia Watercolor Society and has her artwork on display at the Georgia Capital. Julie is featured in the May edition of the Coffee County magazine.
